Bonfire Night - Volunteers wanted

As the evenings draw in and a crisp, woodsmoke-scented air begins to settle over the village, we welcome once more the cosy glow of Bonfire Night and a hint of autumnal magic.

This year’s celebration will be held on Saturday 7th November, and the Heighington Event Committee with the Parish Council are already hard at work to ensure a safe, warm and memorable evening for neighbours and families.

To make it happen we need volunteers on the day and the following morning. Roles include:

  • Help to set out barriers

  • Supervision of the site (from 8:00 am on a rota)

  • Stewarding and crowd safety: Supervising barriers around the bonfire during the event

  • Bonfire inspection (including hedgehog checks)

  • Clearing the site the next day (raking, removing any metal debris, litter picking )

If you can spare some time to help, please contact the admin@heighingtonconnect.com or the Parish Council‍.

Thank you — your support keeps our village gatherings bright.
