CLOTHING BANK - recycling while raising funds for our school
The parish council have received a request for another clothing bank to be placed in the village -

All councillors are in favour of this. There is an initial £40 delivery fee which would normally be recouped overtime however the Parish Council would like to cover this initial cost, meaning that all money accrued from donations can go straight to The Friends of Heighington Primary Association – all councillors unanimously agreed that the PC would cover the initial delivery cost.

Dear Parents/Guardians,
We are delighted to inform you that our school has partnered with Fundraise & Recycle as part of their School Connect Project.
This is a fantastic initiative that promotes recycling while raising valuable funds for our school. As part of this partnership, a Clothes Bank has been placed on our school grounds, providing a convenient way for parents, staff, and the local community to donate unwanted clothes, shoes, and textiles.
All good-quality items collected will be reused, re-sold, or responsibly recycled, reducing waste and helping to protect our environment. This initiative will teach our students about the importance of sustainability while also contributing to our fundraising efforts.
The more we collect, the more we can invest in enhancing the school experience for our children. As an added bonus, for every 5,000kg of clothing recycled, Fundraise & Recycle will gift the school an apple tree or a Hedgehog Hut, further reinforcing our commitment to environmental awareness and student well-being. We encourage you to take part by donating any unwanted clothing, shoes, or textiles to our Clothes Bank. Every contribution makes a difference!
