The Events Committee had its first meeting

The new Events Committee met for the first time at The Bay Horse on 27 February, and it was heartening to see such enthusiasm and practical thinking from everyone present. The group explored how best to operate and concluded that forming an unincorporated association would allow them to apply for funding to support larger ambitions — chief among them a music festival planned for 20 June 2026 in Heighington. Lee Childs, a founding member, kindly shared useful details on budget planning, potential band options and the insurance requirements we’ll need to put in place. There was also good news about Bonfire Night: it is likely to go ahead, with two local businesses already stepping forward as sponsors for one of Heighington’s most popular events. There’s a long list of tasks to tackle, so if you or someone you know would be happy to help, please get in touch, share our volunteer form or email admin@heighingtonconnect.com — every helping hand will make a real difference.
